A Moment of Silence
In Honor of Heroes
Last week the Oklahoma City Dodgers honored the Men and Women of our armed forces for Military Appreciation Night. During our pregame we paused for an emotional moment of silence in honor of the 13 American Service Members who were recently killed in the attack at the Kabul airport, followed by a moving performance of the Star Spangled Banner (Video Below).
On this, the 20th Anniversary of the deadly attacks on the World Trade Center, I invite you to take pause and reflect on those we've lost and the price paid for the freedoms we enjoy.
At 18 I left for college to play a game I love and pursue a career of my choosing because others of the same age chose to leave for war. I've known many men and women who actively chose to leave their families and lives-as-they-knew-them to protect my freedoms. I am forever grateful for their sacrifices.
I may not look like you, I may not think like you, I may not vote like you, but so long as you want the best for your fellow American, you are my neighbor and my friend. May we never take for granted the sacrifices of our fellow citizens, and may we return to a United America.
May God Bless the brave Men, Women, and Families of the American Armed Services.
